CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Valmiki Maharaj is a Caribbean Creative Innovator. In 2008, Valmiki collaborated with TRIBE on their presentation Birds of a Feather, which took to the streets of Port of Spain the following year. The rest, as they say … is history. He is currently the Creative Director of the TRIBE Group, Director of THE LOST TRIBE, and a close partner of Ultimate Events Limited. Valmiki has gained a reputation for not only consistently producing beautiful, sought-after Carnival costumes but as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s premier event and show designers. Creativity is second nature to Valmiki, and his artistic flair is matched only by his effervescent spirit and enthusiastic approach to the art of masquerade and all things costume and show-related. He credits being able to serve his country as a major achievement by way of telling stories, cultural representation, and expressions through mas.
