Bookman

The BOOKMAN is a part of traditional devil mas and is the main character in a devil troop, often trailed by a gang of imps, dragons and other hellish beasts. He takes on the appearance of the most universally recognizable caricature of Satan himself: red-skinned with horns, a goatee, and outfitted in a satin, tudor style embellished gown. His movements are waltz-like and he can be seen bowing to the crowd with his large Book of Doomed Souls in his hand- gesturing to the crowd in a way that suggests he’s writing their names.
