Meet the
Devils
BLUE, RED & BLACK DEVILS and other variations are somewhat newer iterations of the original jab molassie. Blue Devils being an invention largely attributed to revelers in the hills of Parmin, Trinidad and Tobago. The colour is traditionally created by mixing washing blue with lard, resulting in a stunning bright blue colour adored by photographers. Blue Devil bands are alive and well and can be found prancing, leaping, and terrorizing onlookers in the streets from wee hours of Carnival Monday morning in Paramin. With the advent of a wide array of body paints and dyes- modern devils can just about any color you imagine.
