LEAD CHOREOGRAPHER
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Bridgette trained at the Caribbean School of Dancing (CSD) before obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in Dance from York University in Toronto, Canada (2009). Upon completing her BFA she returned to Trinidad and began teaching Ballet, Jazz, and Tap dance at CSD and was appointed Rehearsal Director of Metamorphosis Dance Company. Wilson continues to hold this role with the company as well as the role of Assistant Artistic Director.
In Trinidad and Tobago, her work has been featured in a number of national, cultural, and international events hosted locally; Machel Monday, Soca Monarch finals (with Lyrikal), Junior Parade of the Bands, Kings, and Queens of Carnival competition, The Lost Tribe stage presentations, 5th Summit of the Americas and Carifesta 2019 amongst others. Wilson’s work has also been performed internationally in Suriname (2012), Costa Rica (2013), and Scotland (2014) as a part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Wilson is the first recipient of the CoCo Choreographer’s Award (2012) at Trinidad and Tobago’s highlight dance event, CoCo Dance Festival, and was nominated for a National Youth Award in 2016.
